Huge congratulations to Sarah Rogers, who was a winner in the Webwise National Safer Internet Day competition. There were thousands of entries, and we are very proud that one of our students was chosenl. The judges were very impressed with her entry. Read what the they had to say:
Dear Mrs. L Kiely
On behalf of the Webwise team, I would like to thank you and all the pupils for your participation in Safer Internet Day 2020.
I am delighted to announce that Sarah Rogers, Fourth Class writing entry has been selected as the runner up for this year's SID 2020 Primary Awards. The Webwise team and the judges would like to congratulate you and the pupils involved. This was a wonderful entry and everyone involved should feel very proud! The judges were very impressed with the standard of writing, and they thought that there was a sense of innocence from a 4th class student that was actually very powerful. The messaging in it was also very thoughtful, highlighting both the positive and the negative. I would be grateful if you could share the news with Sarah and pass on our sincere thanks and congratulations.
The Judging Panel
There was a record number of entries to the SID Awards this year and winners and highly commended were selected by an expert judging panel consisting of education, SHPE, technology and social media experts.
The Prize
Sarah will receive an Instax camera and certificate.
Well done again to Sarah, yourself and all the pupils involved in SID 2020. The school did a wonderful job on promoting online safety.
Kind regards,
Jane McGarrigle
