St. Ursula’s Active Week was held from May 29th to June 2nd. What a fun filled week we had! The sun shone down on us as we dropped the pencils and ran, hopped, bounced, crawled, skipped and played.
We began Tuesday with Buddy Day where each of the younger classes joined forces with a senior class and got moving. Some availed of our local amenities, walking to the Eco Park; others learned new skills in Villa FC grounds. We wore our favourite sports gear to school that day.
Wednesday marked the end of our school marathon, finishing up in the RSC. The entire school moved together to the track where each class level was cheered on by the rest of the girls, teachers and parents. The afternoon saw the annual rounders game take place where 6th class emerged victorious.
Thursday was Junior Sports Day. We welcomed parents, grandparents, family members and friends to cheer on Junior Infants, Senior Infants, 1st & 2nd classes. Bouncy castles were inflated, the school shop was opened and the grounds were set up with every item of sports equipment we possess.
Friday, Senior Sports Day continued the same way for 3rd to 6th classes with the exciting addition of Mr Whippy. The entire school was treated to ice cream to keep us going to the very end of Active Week. We will certainly remember this one!!!
